CHANGE TO WINEMAKER MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS: Beginning in 2025, WM Magazine will no longer issue a print edition. On-line bi-monthly subscriptions will be available for purchase by individuals. If you would like to order, please contact WineMaker Magazine directly. Posted October 30, 2024
MEMBERSHIP CALENAR CHANGED: The CCWG Executive Committee agreed to change the CCWG membership period to the calendar year of January to December. The current dues paid in September, included the prepaid subscription to the WineMaker Magazine. We will not be refunding the subscription portion but will apply to the last 4 months of 2024. DECEMBER MEETING: NOUVEAU NIGHT ON DECEMBER 6, 2024Location: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4000 Clayton Road, Concord, CA 94521Time: 7 pmWe will honor Bonneau Dickson as Lifetime Wine Czar. Our usual Nouveau Night as well as presentations and grading of the Nouveau wines. Gary Lum of the American Wine Society will also give a brief talk. In addition, we’ll be having “Second opinion/ Wine Appraisal” for any member that wants to bring a bottle of their wine (other than the nouveau wine) to have a member panel of tasters to give them an opinion on how the wine is doing. There will be no awards for the “second opinion” wine but just an opinion from the panel as to how the wine is doing and suggestions if anything could be done to make the wine better. This activity is separate from the Nouveau Night contest. Please bring an appetizer to share, your nouveau wine, your 2nd opinion wine, and a wine glass. Posted October 30, 2024
AL TURNER RETIRES AS CCWG SECRETARY: Al Turner was honored at the September CCWG meeting for his many years of service and dedication as he stepped down as Secretary of CCWG. Posted October 5, 2024
OCTOBER MEETING: Harvest Reports on October 18, 2024Location: Home of Sam and Mari Parino. See club roster for their address and phone number.Time: 7 pmParking will be available in the circular driveway or in the property next door. Parking is limited on the street. This will be the CCWG Annual Harvest Report meeting. Those who choose to do so can present details about their grape harvest and wine meeting. Members of the newly formed Executive Commitee will be introduced. Please not tht this meeting is a week earlier in the month as usual. Posted October 5, 2024
